Developer Bootcamp
Learning for Live:
Courses ranging from three to six weeks on many topics, taught in many locations. Remote real-time attendance with two-way video and audio communication is an option. The topics include programming languages, system administration, software frameworks, operating systems, etc. Each course devotes at least half its time to hands-on learning.
Dev Bootcamp

Courses in multiple languages and frameworks, HTML, CSS, and SQL. No longer accepting new students.
The Data Incubator
Learning for Live:
Courses tailored for business customers. The topics include data science, machine learning, Spark, and artificial intelligence. The Data Science Fellowship is for students with doctorates; the others are at a more basic level.
CourseHorse
Learning for Live:
A two-week immersive course introduces the Python language. The target audience is students with little or no programming experience. A mobile app development bootcamp for iOS is listed but not currently available.
Codesmith
Learning for Live:
A twelve-week program on JavaScript and front- and back-end development. It emphasizes object-oriented programming and functional programming, using technologies such as React and Node.js. The course is directed at advanced students, who must complete pre-course assignments.
Coder Foundry
Learning for Live:
A bootcamp in the .NET platform, including mobile applications. The full-stack immersive course is for beginners and lasts eighteen weeks. The full-stack accelerated course lasts twelve weeks and requires web development experience. The course in C# mobile development is three weeks long.
BrainStation
Learning for Live:
Full-time courses are available in web development and user experience design. They are 400 hours long, spread over ten weeks. The web development course covers JavaScript, jQuery, Sass, and Bootstrap. Applicants must complete preparatory assignments.
Angular Boot Camp
Learning for Live:
A three-day class on the Angular.js framework. One class is offered for Angular 1.x and one for Angular 2/4+. The course stresses workshop participation. Students should have experience in JavaScript and a DOM manipulation library.
Stanford Engineering Everywhere
Learning for Live:
Stanford Engineering Everywhere (SEE) expands the Stanford experience to students and educators online and at no charge. Classes can be streamed or downloaded. Courses are focused on engineering and include the courses taken by the majority of Stanford’s undergraduates. There are also advanced options on AI and linear system optimization.
Oxford University Podcasts
Learning for Live:
Oxford University has put many of its lecture series online in the form of podcasts. These free courses typically feature multiple episodes and sometimes multiple professors. You can find everything from biology and gardening to philosophy and business or even global politics, history, and archaeology
Open Yale Courses
Learning for Live:
Yale University makes a broad range of its lectures and classes available through the Open Yale Courses program. Each course includes a full set of class lecture videos featuring Yale professors, as well as course materials including syllabi, suggested readings, exams, problem sets, and answer keys. There were dozens of courses available at the time of writing this and Yale says it regularly rotates available classes and adds new options.
Open Learning Initiative
Learning for Live:
Carnegie Mellon University puts most of its classes online and there’s a free section available to anyone. The “independent learner courses” under its Open Learning Initiative are free for anyone. Once you find a course you want to take, you’ll need to create an account and add it to your list of courses. From there, you get a great dashboard that shows your “Open & Free” course options and will track the status of the classwork you perform.
Open Culture
Learning for Live:
Open Culture is a website that collects online education materials and supports lifelong learning with free classes, audio, and video. The non-profit looks across the Internet to find free learning resources and gathers them so they’re easy for you to browse, sort, and find something you want to learn. It currently lists more than 1,500 free courses, predominantly from universities.
